I got the prototype of the invites yesterday and I am SO excited. I absolutely love the friend who is designing them and I knew she would do a great job but seeing the actual piece was awesome and completely confirmed that she was the right choice for the job. It is all the pieces I wanted and colors I described...it is the warm apple cider and gooey chocolate cake feeling I wanted for the day! Everyone says the invite needs to fit the style of the wedding because it is the first impression people get...the invite fits that and I can't wait for everyone to get one! Hooray! It feels so real! I would put a photo here but I want you all to be waiting with excitement to see them!

As most of you know i started a new job about 4 months ago...it is full of highs an lows and some days I wonder what i am doing. With these weekly ups and downs I ussually feel exhausted by Friday...this last friday I got ready to head home and listened to a message on my cell phone from Ryan. " I am done with class and Alisa and I are at the house clearing and cleaning the deck so we can water proof it tonight. Oh and I also thought we could stain the coffee table." Even at the height of my tiredness I couldn't help but smile. Once we are married Ryan and I plan to live in this house for awhile and it was so sweet to know he is already investing his time and energy into it when he does not even live here. I also love that he just does stuff...I talk about it, and buy the supplies and have great intentions but honestly there are ceiling fans in the garage that have been there waiting to be hung for about a year.


Well, the deck looks great and the table is waiting for one last coat of stain...thank you Lord for the motivated Man!

What does it mean to be a wife?

Society says many things and from what i can tell it invloves doing everything well. I do not want to live a life dictated by society...is it ok that I would rather hire a housekeeper and work a little more? Do I have to plan meals and cook every night? Can I just bring home take out? What about Laundry? I understand not wanting things ruined or wrinkled but can I just take it to the dry cleaner? Did women in my grandmothers generation want to have a career and say screw the house? Sometimes I feel like I have already failed as a wife and I have not even begun...is loving Ryan with all of myself and committing to being his biggest support and fan enough?

Wives out there please tell me how you do it and not feel like a failure?

Oy help me not become obsessed! The family has started the Sonoma diet and we are all doing really well so far! I am afraid of looking heavy in my wedding pictures...really I am afraid that other people will think I look fat! I really do not want to become obsessed with the weight on the scale and so today I am relaxing a bit having dinner with friends and I am going to have whatever they serve, whether it is on the plan or not! I am going to drink more than 6 oz of wine and I am going to eat dessert! I just hope when you all see me at the wedding that you will be sure to tell me how not fat I look and then we will all eat some cake!
